No store-bought cakes for this little momma. I love to bake, and Brooklyn's birthday was an excuse for me to try a new recipe. Now, it is sort of a shame that I don't even LIKE cake, but it sure looked pretty! And the icing was particularly tasty. But cake just isn't my thing. Fortunately, we were able to distribute most of it to my family when they came to sing Happy Birthday to Brooklyn. The following is the first phase...layer one...and the finished product.
