A Rare Event
2:20 PM
Despite the prediction of 5-6 inches of snow during the night, we awoke to an unchanged landscape, and sadly, sent Kyle off to work. We were so hoping for a Snow-induced All Day Daddy Day. (Those are big at our house). As Brooklyn and I followed our usual routine and headed off to the gym, the weather decided to cooperate and flakes began falling. I was unconcerned, as I have come to view the weather as a running joke and believe little to none of what they say will happen. But during the hour we were at the gym, our corner of the world was swiftly and silently blanketed with the precious, oh too rare, wonderfulness of snow. My little Quattro Audi A4 navigated the snowy roads with ease and finesse and we arrived at home to find our DADDY HERE! The weather had brought him home after all!
After some leftover beef stroganoff (perfect for a snowy day), we put Brooklyn down for her nap and nestled in with our books and laptop. When Brooklyn awoke, we bundled up and headed outside to properly introduce her to the marvel of accumulating snow. We never see this stuff and we LONG for it. She was quite excited about it, as were our dogs to run as fast as they could and eat as much as they could. We even made the world's tiniest snowman! It lasted about 5 minutes because my Golden, Bailey, tried to make off with an arm and the whole thing toppled.
