One of Kyle and my favorite things about the Shaker buildings was their use of these wall pegs. About 6 feet up the wall, they had this wooden peg rail - almost like a chair rail, but much higher. They used these for everything from hanging unused chairs on, hats, securing candle holders, hanging furniture. It was so clever and inventive! I seriously want some in my house now! It also gave their plain white walls some beautiful symmetry and design. Overall, I found their simplicity incredibly modern and lovely.
