Broccoli-Apple-Cheese Tart

As horrendous as it sounds, this was seriously good. A recipe from Chocolate & Zucchini - a fabulous cookbook that I discovered through my friend, Liz.

This concoction began with a homemade pastry tart crust, some steamed broccoli, some feta cheese and an apple sliced up.

After the tart crust was prepared, the whole shebang was plopped into the tart shell. The custard part (eggs, milk, salt, pepper) was poured over that and the whole thing was baked for about 30 minutes.


It was a fantastic blend of tart apples, rich broccoli and cheese. I will have to say, though, next time I make this I will substitute sharp cheddar cheese instead of feta. I think the feta could be improved upon.
