God has blessed me with a girlfriend whose friendship has been such a comfort and blessing to me. We met in college, roomed together briefly, were bridesmaids in each other's weddings, had a little falling out, reconnected after a year's break and have been thick as thieves ever since. As a bonus, our husbands are also best friends! Sadly, we've never lived in the same town together since we've been married and building our own families. But we manage to maintain our closeness through phone calls (mostly while we're in our cars), visits and the occasional long weekend.

Her assets are many...her liabilities few (I would actually come up blank if I tried to think of something negative about her!). I love talking with her about anything, sharing from the depths of my heart as she reciprocates. We discuss parenting, spiritual issues, dealing with parents, what it means to be a godly woman, mother and wife, how to raise our children in a godly fashion, we've been pregnant together twice! As couples, she and Greg are perfect complements to me and Kyle. We just plain enjoy being together, and there is nothing sweeter than that sort of friendship sealed with the brotherhood of Christ.

So, as she turned 30 this year, her husband invited some of her best buddies over for an adults only dinner party - and he did the cooking! Great job, by the way, Greg.

The incredible bonus of the day was that it snowed and snowed and snowed. Sadly, that may be the Floyd's ONLY exposure to snow this winter, and it wasn't even in our own town! But it was gorgeous, cold and SO welcome.
